What It Does
Piroctone Olamine is the ethanolamine salt of piroctone (1-hydroxy-4-methyl-6-(2,4,4-trimethylpentyl)-2(1H)-pyridinone), developed as a more stable and cosmetically elegant alternative to zinc pyrithione. Its cationic nature allows it to substantiate onto hair and scalp, providing prolonged antimicrobial activity against Malassezia fungi and other microorganisms responsible for dandruff and seborrheic dermatitis.
