What It Does

Agave Syrup is a natural sweetener-derived cosmetic ingredient obtained from the sap of Agave plants, primarily Agave tequilana, through hydrolysis of the plant's fructans (agavins). It is rich in fructooligosaccharides and fructose, which contribute to its excellent water-binding and moisture-retention properties on the skin. Formulators favor it as a natural, plant-based alternative to synthetic humectants, particularly in 'clean beauty' and organic formulations, where it also imparts a subtle skin-softening effect and can serve as a natural texture modifier.
