What It Does

Amidon de riz (Rice Starch) is a fine, white powder derived from the endosperm of Oryza sativa (rice) grains, composed primarily of amylose and amylopectin polysaccharides. It is prized in cosmetic formulations for its exceptionally small and uniform granule size, which gives it a uniquely silky, smooth skin feel and superior oil and moisture absorption compared to other starches. Formulators choose it for its natural origin, excellent mattifying properties in face powders and dry shampoos, and its ability to impart a soft-focus effect on skin imperfections.
