Biotinoyl Tripeptide-1

Biotinoyl Tripeptide-1 is a synthetic bioconjugate consisting of the tripeptide Val-His-Pro covalently linked to biotin (vitamin B7), specifically engineered to target hair follicle anchoring proteins and scalp tissue. It works by mimicking the interaction between biotin and the extracellular matrix, stimulating the synthesis of laminin-5 and collagen IV in the dermal papilla, which strengthens the anchoring of the hair bulb and prolongs the anagen (growth) phase. Formulators choose it for anti-hair loss and scalp care products—typically at concentrations of 0.0001–0.001%—because its biotin conjugation significantly enhances cellular uptake and follicular targeting compared to free biotin alone.
